Here are some pic's of the lakes we are most concerned with the Trout ones although there are some excellent course pools.
The Masters Notice the deer under the tree we could almost be in Alaska.
Wyre Dell Yes they are Llama's.
Stella A few more deer.
These are not the only trout pools available.
A good catch from the Masters the largest being 8lb 4oz.
Comments:-
I fished the Masters lake on a 4 fish ticket and after fishing for an hour on a cats whisker I realised that I was not going to be on the pool for a long time having caught 2 fish each 6lb and it was only 9 o'clock!! after you have got your limit you can go onto the Wyre Dell or Stella catch and release.
My suspicions were right as I had another fish of 5lb within the next 3 casts then on the next cast I had a real dogged pull that slowly took of but it kept going and I never saw what it was as it kept going and it never stopped.
Oh Bugger!!! I put the cats whisker back on as there was no need to change fly as I was having a reasonable amount of success. After a couple of casts I was in again this time it felt a bit bigger you know what I mean and sure enough after 15 minutes it was tiring and coming to the net it was landed and weighed in at 8lb 4oz a good broad fish. see above.
A great end to a great day but it had not ended I went on to the Stella and did some catch and release which was great fun.
If Shatterford keep up this stocking policy I'm sure that it will become a premier fishery more so than it was 15 years ago especially if their future plans come to fruition.
What I like about this fishery is that it caters for all types of ability and age also families, anyway don't take my word for it go down there!
Note:-Shatterford lakes is now under new ownership so some of the pools have changed from Trout to course fishing
